Good news for the Paphos tourism sector as most of the visitors are seeking
desperately for Paphos for tours and holiday stays. Also the tourism officials and the
hoteliers are promoting this seaside town as a top touring spot and are also eyeing to
strengthen ties with the Israel as the Israel nationals are quality tourists and are used to
a high level service.
The 2007 Interior Ministry statistics states that Paphos is a top holiday and wedding
destination on the island with its municipality holding nearly 17 weddings a day as well
as hotel weddings. One of the main sources of the revenue for the municipality is the
income generated from the civil weddings.
Sawas Vergas, the town’s Mayor says that the efforts of the organized bodies that
are representing them in Tel Aviv are given full support by the municipality and are
promoting Paphos through the newly proposed charter flights from Israel.
Though Europe is facing a tight economic crisis, the tourism officials are looking forward
for making ways to generate income from other countries.
As told by the Swissport spokesman, that new flights will commence soon between
Paphos and Tel Aviv.
Meanwhile local businesses in Paphos have shown their concerns for waning market
and are also reliant on tourism and are hoping that all the new markets be investigated
and exploited soon.
